FARM HOTEL GARDEN
BABYLONSTOREN FARM HOTEL | SIMONDIUM
The concept for this project was to create an ‘ungardened’ garden, where the planting weaves the landscape together and is used to anchor and hold the buildings. We wanted it to seem as if the planting was there before the buildings and therefore our plant palette was guided by the plants that occur locally, and studying and understanding how these plants would group and arrange themselves in the shaded areas.
A limited plant palette of Myrsine, Schoenoxiphium, Chasmanthe, Halleria, Asparagus, Knowltonia, Juncus and Zantedeschia was used throughout to create a quiet space.
